How to qualify
- Check your postal code on BC Hydro's Community-based offers page. Only select Maple Ridge postal codes qualify for the $1,750 top-up.
- Choose a qualifying charger. It must be on BC Hydro's rebate-eligible list and be Peak Saver compatible (ChargePoint, Emporia, or Wallbox Pulsar). Check with us before you buy.
- Install under permit by a licensed electrician. We handle the permit and the install.
- Enroll the charger in Peak Saver. Required to receive the $1,750 top-up.
- Apply within 180 days of installation (and by Dec 31, 2026) with your paid, itemized invoices.
Rebate FAQ
Can I still get the rebate if I already bought a charger?
Possibly. The charger has to be on the eligible lists, installed with a permit, and applied for within 180 days of installation. Call us before you buy anything else.
Will I get the full $2,350?
Not necessarily. Rebates can't exceed your total eligible cost (charger, installation, permit), and BC Hydro decides eligibility and funding.
What does Peak Saver mean for me?
During occasional winter peak events (November to March), BC Hydro may briefly pause or slow your charging. You can override it anytime, and you earn a $50 bill credit each season you stay enrolled.
Is my address eligible?
The $1,750 community top-up only applies to qualifying postal codes. Enter yours on BC Hydro's Community-based offers page, or call us and we'll help you check.

Do I need an electrical permit for an EV charger installation?
Yes. Every Level 2 install in British Columbia needs one. We file and manage it through Technical Safety BC or your municipality. This keeps your home insurance valid and ensures your installation is officially compliant for provincial rebate tracking.
Will a Level 2 charger overload my home's existing electrical panel?

Can I install a Level 2 EV charger on a 100-amp panel?

How much does it cost to install a Level 2 EV charger?
A basic install with room on your panel starts around $849. If your panel is near capacity and requires load-sharing, it starts at $1,200. Every installation includes a proper load calculation, your Technical Safety BC permit (~$200), and a final inspection.
What EV charger rebates are available in Maple Ridge, and how do I apply?
Single-family homes can get up to $350 back for the charger and install, plus a $200 top-up if you need a power management device. Eligible Maple Ridge homes can also get a $1,750 BC Hydro community top-up (select postal codes, and the charger must be enrolled in Peak Saver) and a $250 Peak Saver enrollment bonus, for up to $2,350 total on applications through December 31, 2026. Applications are submitted online within 6 months (180 days) of installation, and we provide the permit number and itemized invoice you need to claim it.
Which EV charger brands do you recommend and install?
We install top-tier, certified hardware designed for long-term reliability. Our most commonly recommended units include ChargePoint Home Flex, Grizzl-E, and Wallbox, and we also install Tesla Wall Connectors for Tesla owners. To claim BC Hydro rebates, the charger must be on BC Hydro's rebate-eligible list (Tesla chargers no longer qualify), and for the Maple Ridge community top-up it must also work with Peak Saver (ChargePoint, Emporia, or Wallbox Pulsar).
